ABOUT US

Ferrosource LLC is a global procurement and distribution company focused on supply chain and risk management in ferrous metals markets.

Ferrosource works with an established network of mostly OEM customers to supply steel and raw materials to meet its customers’ exacting needs.  The team at Ferrosource is highly experienced at handling all steps in the domestic and global supply chain so that our customers can focus on running their businesses rather than dealing with sourcing, financing, and logistics.

Ferrosource has special expertise at managing price risk and can offer suppliers and customers either fixed pricing or variable pricing tied to domestic or global price indices.

Ferrosource has processing facilities located throughout the USA and offices on the U.S. East Coast (Jacksonville, FL and New York, NY), Midwest (Chicago, IL and Fort Wayne, IN), South (Birmingham, AL and Dallas, TX), and West Coast (Los Angeles, CA and Portland, OR). Finance and trade support teams are based in New York City.

AFFILIATES

Ferrosource is affiliated with several large steel processing and distribution companies in the heartland of the USA: Midwest Pipe & Steel, Paragon Steel, and Paragon Tube.  These companies process, consume and distribute the full range of raw materials as well as flat and long steel products.  In addition, Ferrosource is affiliated with Ferrometrics, a major player in global ferrous futures markets, and with global Japanese trading house Hanwa. Ferrometrics provides expert assistance to provide hedging for Ferrosource’s domestic customers. Hanwa and Ferrosource work together to provide customers with competitive cost stocking and inventory release programs.

RISK MANAGEMENT

The Ferrosource team is expertly proficient at structuring steel price risk management solutions.  

Ferrosource can provide suppliers and customers with fixed pricing or minimize market exposure by structuring transactions so that pricing is tied to global price indices (such as Platts Turkish Scrap or US Midwest Hot Rolled).  Ferrosource also has capability to provide qualified suppliers and customers with specialty financing and stocking programs for their raw materials and finished goods.
